Bottom right button on the steering wheel - think got a phone symbol on it. I usually hold it down for a bit.

Thanks Heidi,

Yes, thats what I do but it's not very positive - sometimes it works and other times it holds on to the call. If I press it again it cancells the call and redials the same number. Most distracting when driving and defeats the object a bit. So... maybe I have a fault or I'm doing something wrong.

Pressing the button doesn't seem to work for me either, probably not pressing and holding it down long enough. I've only ever received calls twice and made calls half a dozen times and I've had this problem each time. I will have to look in the book but I feel that the answer may be using the voice control button and saying "end call" or similar.

The other prob I have is that scrolling through the phone book on the dash (mine is split into 3 sections) when I get to the name I want to call I assumed that you could press the telephone button to call the selected person but that doesn't work for me so I use voice control and say "call" which seems to work most of the time. Does anyone know if this is the only way to call someone selected in the phone book.?

Luckily, I am not a fan of mobile phones and will only use if stricly necessary so not a great problem for me but possibly is for people who need to spend a lot of their time on the road.

I use the scrolling function to make calls, and then press the telephone button. Each time I've tried to do by voice she's dialled someone else :(. And reading the number out - well goodness knows who I spoke to but they sounded really nice! lol

I completely agree. I use scroll/telephone button function to make calls. The stupid woman doesn't understand a word I'm saying! But I bet she looks nice and cooks marvelous pasta though...:D

Yes.... I've given up on using VOICE to select a number - it rarely gets the right person even after a number of attempts. I've tried saying the name in different ways but it makes no difference. This technology can work though. When I use this option on my Nokia mobile it gets it right 99% of the time so over to you Fiat! :)

I did read on another thread that Fiat have an upgrade for the microphone so maybe that's where the problem is.

Could be related to the mic issue noted in the stickies. People comment I sound very muffled, and indeed to get it to recognised 'Yes' if I say yeSSSSS it gets it every time, which would fit with the muflled type of sound reaching the bird too.
