Time taken from Status 16 and being built?

Hi guys

As my car is now at Status 16 and has its chassis number I was just wondering what is the time length from this to being built?

Just curious as I'm very jealous of everyone who had their 500's on 1st - lucky ducks!

Steve

Re: Time taken from Status 16 and being built?

I don't know but mine must have been quick from that status to built as I ordered on 24th June and was on the boat a month later and that was for a funk white. I would have been a 1st delivery too but am busy so have delayed pick up for 10 more days - it's sooooo hard waiting but will be worth it.

I'd wait about 2 weeks and then phone the dealer if I were you and ask for a status report - he won't have much to tell you before then I wouldn't have thought. I waited 4 weeks to ring and got told was on the boat apparently (although not actually seen the car yet so am not yet convinced it's funk white! ha ha).

Enjoy yourself on here whilst waiting - I've found it really useful and friendly and everyone seems really really nice

Thanks for your reply

I ordered mine on 25th July, so pretty much a month after yourself. I contacted them last week because I wanted to change an option, which is when I learned it was at Status 16

Luckily I seem to have a fantastic dealer and they did me the option at option price, rather than accessory, so they're fitting it when it arrives

I so excited, especially as the clutch has now gone on my old and very, very faithful Rover 200. Its been a trusty friend whilst I've been saving to get my 500. In some ways I'm miss the old dear - but I'm really looking forward to my blue and ivory ambience and a working clutch

The factory closed for August I think, or scaled down production - I expect it will very quickly go to Built status now they are back. I'd ring again maybe on Friday to find out?

I ordered mine on the 4th July and my dealer phoned me yesterday to tell me it is still at Status 16 (has been for near 6 weeks). Factory only re-opened on the 25th August but still expected it to be built by now. Salesman says it will still be here for the end of September but I cant say I share his confidence.

Sure hope so.
The wait is starting to get to me especially with all you lucky people either getting theirs or them being on their way.

From leaving the factory to UK arrival usually takes four weeks. Add to that the fact that an order changes to Status 16 two weeks before it's actually built, and you get a six week timescale from 16 to UK Arrival.

Most 500 orders are a bit quicker than this, but outside factors (boat sinks, train crashes, strike, bad weather, lorry breaks down, damage) can add to the 'normal' time.

The longest I've seen from 16 to delivery so far is 7 weeks. So long that we amended an order on a replacement car that turned up quicker!

Well I am well on my way to beating that by a long way, unless it is built, shipped and arrives at my dealers in less than a week.
