Just went to start the 500 and its dead, got loads of warnings etc and no starter motor and the central lockings inoperative, so guessing a battery drain or something? Was fine Thursday and nothings been left on during the weekend... AA are on the way but Im going to be very late for work:(

Similar thing happened to me a couple of months ago, but I'd been polishing and waxing the car with the radio on for a couple of hours. Then all of a sudden, the radio cut out and I tried to restart it and the restart the ignition, but everything was dead. I rang my Fait dealer, who suggested locking the car with the remote fob and then after 5 mins or so, unlock it and restart the engine. I did as he suggested, and hey presto, all was hunkydori again.

The AA arrived within 20 minutes and found the battery to be almost totally discharged:( Nothing had been left on over the 4 days and he found no drain using his meter. The only thing different I did was to turn the DRLs off, I wonder if something in the computer messed up and drained the battery then? Anyway, its been fine since but now my Blue and Me doesnt work properly with the phone...
Ill just have to wait and see if it goes flat again if I leave it a few days.

the radio has a 20 minute timer on it if the ignition was turned off in the other ones case

now that your blue and me is playing up you will need to go have the car locked at buy dealer as will need proxy alighnment to make can operated things work again

in theory a good battery should sustain a radio for more than a couple of hours

day light running lights or any other computer on the car will not make mistakes to run a battery flat something would have to be on that uses allot of power you would notice that like lights for example

unless the body computer is not telling the notes to sleep or one or more nodes not recieving the sleep signal after power latch period

this is unlikelly thou and rarely happens on can operated systems only heard of it on an alfa 147 door computers not shuting down

but this again would take a good few days to flaten a battery

All thats happened with blue and me is this, I say call so and so and it says do you want to call them now? Then, when I say yes it doesnt recognise yes unless I shout really loud!!!
Its like shes not listening. Cant see why it needs proxy alighnment as it was only totally flat for 20 mins.

o right i assumed you meant not working at all properly

a little ignoring is to be expected after all it's programed with a female voice that's a characteristic of the system

Cheers Rob, That's probably why I haven't "seen the light" so to speak. Maybe NP's lounge does have one, in which case I might pop a peek at the location at the Southern Meet and fit one in mine. I guess there must also be a switch somewhere, probably in the lock assembly.

Can you post info if/when you do this? Im going for a 1.2 Sport, and i'd like to add a boot light too.

Rob,

There is a guide on the following link:
fiat500blog.de/index.php?/archives/248-Bastelstunde-Kofferraumbeleuchtung-nachruesten.html

It's a german site, so I use google translator but I'm sure you will understand!

You can add boot light really easy! Just need to order the light cover (Part number: 006065239)

Hope it helps!
