Nine hours to go!

They (Piccadilly motors) are fitting the alarm this morning and we are collecting around 5pm.
Hopefully they will have remembered to stick on the rear plate!
It has taken nearly 4 months since ordering mid-March.
So if anyone between Wakefield and Holmfirth spots a Yellow Sport (1.2) with black side stripes between 5 and 6pm today it's the new companion to our existing MINI floppytop.

I will post a photo asap.
Barry

Hey Barry
I'm excited for you too!
Not long now but it must be the longest 9 hours you've waited

Re: Nine hours to go!

Well, It's here. (last Thursday actually)
It looks stunning - I have taken some pictures and will post them tonight.
My other half drove it home from the dealers and said the steering felt light and the ride very "jiggly".
No wonder - the tyre pressures were 3.2 all round. I dropped them to 2.2 and 2.0. Result - comfortable ride and better steering.
Plus points - Excellent aircon
Seats comfortable.
The engine noise is very low from inside the cabin.
Minus points - Trying to get a good driving position is a impossible due to the steering column not being fully adjustable. (no for and aft). My partner has long legs and the clutch travel is difficult to get used to when changing forward gears. (He has swapped the from a MINI automatic) We did try a Dual logic but did not like it. Our fault.
Gear ratios (1.2 engine) daft for town driving - maybe will be better when the car has been run in.
Speedometer is difficult to read and there is NO digital spped readout on the all singing/dancing display

The dealer has missed out the lighter plug and I cannot for the life of me open the document flap above the passenger side shelf.

Still all in all the car is nice.
Regards
Barry

Re: Nine hours to go!

The ride is jiggly, as for the steering have you got the city button pressed in? Glad youve got it now and looking forward to the pics, dont forget to put them in members motors

Theres no way of saying this without sounding rude, but if you feel the underside of the dash on the passenger side, you'll find a hole where you probably know the document flap should be. Stick two fingers in this hole (as far as they will go, not just on the edge), and squeeze your fingers forward (towards you) in a 'come hither' motion. The document flap should then flip down.

Re: Nine hours to go!

Barry did the alarm help you save anything on your insurance?
Is it worth the extra money?
