A new fiat 500?

Hallo everyone!

I have just joined this lovely forum.
Will you put me out of my misery? I live in London. Average speed in 2 years driving a bmw: 14mph!

Unanimous opinion of BMW drivers: a pain in the backside. Well deserved.

I love the new 500. I test drove it, what a cute car! I'm Italian and remember well the original, lots of memories...

Dilemma: even though with the 500 I would save the earth, solve the fuel crisis, repair my current account, dodge the congestion charge (from October on) and certainly go no slower than anybody else whilst having fun, here I am, about to sign on the dotted line at the local Fiat dealership, looking at ridiculusly expensive Spiders and Breras in the showroom nearby!

Trouble is, (I want to hear from you men out there as well as women) I've been conditioned over the years that you should have the biggest car you can afford. What a foolish notion!!!

Will you put me out of my stupid misery and tell me that a Fiat 500 is going to be great fun? And that nobody will laugh at me???

I know. Pathetic. I'm trying to grow up, help me!!!

Re: A new fiat 500?

My girl-friend was recently in Italy on vacation.
She told me that out of 10 drivers of Fiat 500, 7 were MEN!!!

I ordered on, and i'm 185 cm tall!

Who cares about others, if YOU LIKE IT!!!

Re: A new fiat 500?

Coo!

If you're that self conscious then stick with the Beemer.

However sod 'em all and get a cinquino and forget others sad opinions............know what's in your trousers!!!

Re: A new fiat 500?

Get it !!

I am now trying to sell my 335i, so you can crossover from the Geeeermans to the Italians....I take the Fiat everywhere and fight with the wife for the keys to it !

It's just different, you might get there a bit slower, but you get there smiling.

Talking Re: A new fiat 500?

Firstly with a 500 you could tell the ladies the car is like it's owner "Cool not pretentious"

Secondly when your 500 pulls into the petrol station and draws up next to a big fat BMW, look at your tax disc, look at his, look at how much your full tank cost, and look at his then guess who is laughing all the way to the bank

Re: A new fiat 500?

You had me all in stitches, thank you sooo much - tomorrow I sign up and get a white Lounge with all the gizmos. Yeah!!!

As for getting there "slower" than a Beemer, I don't think so, not in central London!

I'm very proud of me and this big grown up decision I've made. With your help. Thanks!!!

Pics will follow....

500 rules!

Good on you !!

Living in the sticks you occasionally get to exceed the speed limit, 42mph average !

Re: A new fiat 500?

Hi Minifunclub,
I officially blame you for my current search of a 500 plate! (I found *500HOT... cheaper than filling up the bmw three times!!!)

This is going to be fun.

Has anybody got the extra sound system (subwoofer or somethig) and is it worth it???

Re: A new fiat 500?

Do it

Who wants to sit in a big, ugly, guzzling beemer when they could be sitting in a purring, cute-nosed bambino

Re: A new fiat 500?

Gratz on your soon to be new purchase!

And yeah i have the INTERSCOPE sound system and i think its simply brilliant! if you manage to get a test vehicle with it in take a varied selection of music, it sounds superb with some music and some makes you wonder why you got the upgrade. but honestly on the whole im really really happy with it. but bear in mind when ordering the INTERSCOPE system that you will loose the storage space under the passenger seat. (not that it has bothered me yet)
