Hello all,

My 1.2 Lounge has just passed the 2,500 mile mark. He had been
averaging 48 mpg, but on a recent 50 mile trip on twisty A roads, doing
between 50-55, averaged 64 mpg. I returned home via the M5 motorway &
a good A road, being able to put my foot down more & he still averaged
59 mpg. Today, he averaged 52 mpg on a 56 mile trip, on hilly roads.
I think this is excellent for a petrol model. Any other 1.2 owners getting
good economy figures too ? :)

I find that in third the engine is so quiet, smooth and flexible that I tend to use it a lot in and around town.

I'm approacing 800miles now and I'm averaging 45mpg. First 400 miles mostly A roads, now city run abouts.

Me neither, the most I have got is 42mpg and that was motorway driving at 60-65mph!!

Love the car but am so disappointed in the fuel economy. I drive on A roads and dual carriageway to work everyday with no hold ups and get 38mpg on that journey every day.

am confused now (AND THATS NOT A HARD THING TO DO)

God knows what am doing wrong but just cant seem to get the mpg as high as everyone elses (n)
what is you'rs showing?

took me 10 miles on the motorway to get the ac,a to go up by 3 mpg !
mine better start going up i can get 40mpg from the merc and thats a heavy car with a bigger engine and £170 a year to tax:cry:might buy another 500(y)

Given the fact that so many constraints effect the fuel economy, ill be happy being in the 40's my 100hp doesnt return 40's and that not driving like a nut case.

Thats the kind of driving I get the best mpg from, usually around 48mpg and 45 ish on the motorway at 70mph. Done 1800 miles now. I am hoping to break 50mpg soon. Best average over 30miles was 49.3mpg but the car seems to like to be on a good long run to get some good mpg

well i filled up today and have rest the timer and have driven quite slow kept the revs below 3000 and at the mo am showing 53.4mpg after 35 miles have also turned the cc onto auto rather than recirc and this seems to have helped
