(G) Electrochromatic Dipping Rearview Mirror?

Im going to test drive a 500 tomorrow morning. Im pretty sold on getting one now, and ive specced up one that I want. The only things I need to clear up are whether the rearview mirror is worth getting, and what the car drives like.

Does it make the mirror any bigger physically, and how useful has it been for those that have it?

Can't comment directly on the one on the '500 but I have one in my Audi A3 along with similar door mirrors.

You don't realise how effective they are until you turn them off. It gives, at night, everything in the rear mirror a light green tinge, you can still see clearly what's behind you but without it ever dazzling you no matter how brightly the lights behind are.

I don't think these mirrors are any different in size to the standard one.
