Re: New member, getting my 500 M-Jet Pop soon

So I got the car yesterday, but as usual there had to be something not quite right.

The dealer had installed numberplateholders, and on the backlid they where fixed only at the top, so after closing the lid a few times the plateholder had rubbed right through the paint along the bottom edge.

I returned to the dealer, who fixed it by adding a strip of double-sided tape, but leaving me with no option but to keep on using a numberplateholder, as using none would expose the damaged paint.

I mean, how hard can it be?

I have to admit that this thing has me grinding my gears a little, what action should I take?

First up, didnt you notice this happen? If you did then maybe you should have taken action before the paint wore.... your only options are to use plate holders or ask the dealer to respray the tailgate as its basically their fault, be polite first though.

My GF noticed it when we picked it up, and even pointed it out to the dealer then and there. At the time he explained that there where only possible to attach the plateholder at the top. But later, when I had left and checked for damage after closing the lid once, I called up to say that there where indeed visible damage, he said that they usually attached clay to prevent this. This of course beggs the question, why did they not do it this time then?

Just writing about this ticks me off even more

Personally I wouldnt have driven away with it, especially as your GF noticed.... as Ive said youve two options, try not to get too annoyed; life is short, its just a car with a defect thats all.

I didn't catch what they where talking about at the time, as I was busy looking at other stuff. Though I'd expect a car-dealer to best understand that a piece of plasting banging on the paint would rub trough in no time.

I'll try to take it easy, after all, the rest of the car is pretty much perfect
