Blu M’ama non M’ama?

I believe "Blu M’ama non M’ama" is the italian name for jive blue but can anyone translate what it means?

An Italian guy actually translated it for me at the Vristol Italian Car Day.

It's closest english translation is "blue, mama, she loves me, she loves me not"

thanks, how bizarre for a car colour name? I thought it might have been blue, love it or don't love it?

Re: Blu M’ama non M’ama?

Originally the wording M'ama non M'ama (loves me don't love me) was used to a game of lover, take a flover from a field and take off is petal and see if you dream boy or girl was in love with you or not! I actually cannot see the connection Fiat made to the colour blue but yes it does mean what Mark said, but let me tell you for the English market the colours make some sense for the italian market see here:
Bianco bianco (White white) Bossa nova white
Grigio Perbene (Well mannered (nice) grey) Breakbeat Grey
Blue Impeccabile (Impeccable Blue) Mod blue
Nero provocante (Provocateur Black) Crossover Black
Verde Libero e bello (Free and nice Green) Ye Ye green
Arancio gustoso (Tasty orange) Calypso Orange
Azzurro cuor leggero (Light blue light hearted) Cha Cha cha azure
Rosso sfrontato (Sameless red) Pasodoble red (double step from the dance)
Giallo birichino (Naughty Yellow) Tropicalia Yellow
Grigio Galante (Gallant Gray) Punk Gray
Bianco Gioioso (Joyful White) Funk white
Well the translation is not one of the best but i guess you could get the sense!!

Re: Blu M’ama non M’ama?

Good knowledge!
Wouldn't it be fun to be driving in a naughty yellow though might not get on well with the well mannered grey

Perhaps the Italian Colours are

Ooh, how did I do that!!?

Nice song tho, definately 'of the era'.
But this explains the literal translation of the phrase..

So perhaps it's like 'Daisy Blue'?
