Is there much 'Love' in the 500 section?

Some people around here actually want to talk about Fiat's. If you want to be argumentative why don't you find a mirror and leave me the **** alone and let me talk about Fiat's in peace.

Do you think? Do we not show a bit of the milk of human kindness in here? Or has it all curdled in our veins? Personally I'm with 'The Beast' cause I think there are nicer places to be on FiatForum where difference of opinion is more welcome and there is less aggression. I don't really come into the 500 section as much any more. I tend to find it a bit of a 'harsh' place to be full of lovely messages like this...

If my comments make you cry then I think perhaps you need a bit of time away from the PC...
I think that should of been 'If my comments made you cry then I'm sorry....' but that's just me...

Likewise

That's nice... I know the feeling

You're on a car forum and you're asking why a diesel is more expensive to manufacture?
Erm.. .were else would you ask that question? Gaydar?

Speaking of which...

If a man drives that every one is gonna think he is gay
Good thing is you will never be the designated driver when going to the pub

Enough of my sexual fantasies there Mark!

This provides confirmation, if any was needed, that the 500 is effeminate and unworthy of the Fiat brand.
So am I on both counts but really, who cares?

Then there was all that stuff over the 'other 500 forum' and numerous little spats that really does take away from the rest of the Fiat Forum in my opinion.

Maybe it's just me, maybe its cause I just didn't fall in love with my 500 and don't get the passion that a lot of you guys have for the cars that make you get so up tight. Or maybe I'm just not in the right 'click' or enough of a bunny boiler or don't have a thick enough skin?

When I do the American trip with the 500 this summer the reports will more than likely end up in the Classic Panda section cause I've been feeling that it will be the only people who will have any interest and my last post in here will be titled '500 for sale on Ebay. Unusual History, See photos....'

It's late, Night folks

That would have to be in Auction Watch section, not 500 section

Re: Is there much 'Love' in the 500 section?

I think this forum produces somewhat lively debate

It's probably because it's frequented by forty-somethings like me who always know best

Actually I quite like the non-pc-ness of it all, but you're absolutely right, you're more likely to get flamed than a pat on the back

Re: Is there much 'Love' in the 500 section?

Oh and what has sexual orientation got to do with cars?

What persuaded me to buy the 500 was low running costs, particularly the overheads (insurance £210 per annum, tax £35 and falling). Also it is full of lovely gadgets that hopefully won't go too wrong - the only thing that is missing is cruise control for specs-camera-infested Britain and those long overnight motorway hauls from London to Edinburgh.

If there is flaming, or what you deem to be flaming, of another member, then report it

Flaming is a warnable offence on here, and at least it highlights what is going on to all the mods

I used the word flaming in jest! It is more like good natured banter!

Sometimes it's good natured. But it has been becoming more poisonous recently. From some people.

Speak for yourself, I'm not 40 yet, and I'm not sensitive about being closer to 40 than 30 at all......honest.

I agree. Unless it's a Beetle Cabrio

Being serious though I think the UK is too full of people in big Audi's and BMW's tailgating people to prove how much of a man they are. I think it's refreshing to see men driving a car which some of these knobs will thing is gay. One of the MD's at work has an F430 Spider but half the time he turns up to work in a very unremarkable Grande Punto. For me when I was working the drive to work and back was a boring time which I tried to get over with as quick as possible. Not a time where I tried to enhance my manhood by tailgating everyone I possibly could.

I'm well represented in the OP's post purely because some people around here frustrate me and I guess I tend to rub people up the wrong way sometimes with my style of posting. But there are lots of good people too. Yesterday I made a dumb assumption that one of the posters on here used their foglights on clear nights. Turns out I was wrong. So I said this

i could not agree more, this is my pet hate, these men driving like ******s somehow think a big audi makes them hard

as for love in this section, i don't think it's too bad really, but like they say in the cinemas, courtesy is contagious, so if we're all nice...
