Are fog lights something worth getting on the 500?

Is the parking sensor useful given it's such a small car to park?

I do a lot of night driving and wouldn't have a car without fog lights. However, the 500 is little and I should imagine easy to place, so unless you really can't judge distance I would think the sensors are less necessary.

Fog lamps are for use in fog

by they way we are back in the fold previously had 1.9 grande punto and panda 100hp

fiat 500 1.3 sport (very good)
black
black leather
electric sun roof (absolutley fantasic)
16in wheels
rev sensors (not nessesary)
fog lamps (dont forget for use in fog only!)
auto dip mirror (looks like it was nicked off a bmw)
red stripe
leather gear knob
chrome bumpers and mirrors

I suppose it depends on how often do you drive in fog and how well can you park

I find the 500 does have rather poor rearward visibility through the rear screen and the mirrors aren't great either. Also if you get a 1.4 the turning circle isn't that good either.

Must admit that is a pet hate of mine on clear nights.

Typically small Peugeot's, Citroen's and Corsa's around here that do it. I just flash my high beams at them. I accidently bought some 100w bulbs on the net so it's not nice to be flashed by me..... Even worse when they're behind you. I just flick my rear fog off and on to irritate them :p

Fog lights are for driving when there is fog about. All they do on a clear night when you're driving with them is dazzle oncoming drivers.

Agreed. I said foglights are for use in fog, so why would you assume I meant otherwise? Bizarre.

You're more likely to get fog in the morning.

Apologies if I made a wrong assumption. Perhaps I read too far into your post.

By the way, I drive from ten at night until eight in the morning, which pretty much covers all the time when foglights are most useful.

We had one night a couple of months ago when I did 106 miles and never went above thirty miles an hour, along country lanes. It was a nightmare, but without the fogs it would have been far worse. For the price I reckon they are well worth having.

and thats ok because?

i find fog lights a athsetic thing only, in actual fog they just light it up more..

Have to disagree, but then there are good and bad ones. Properly designed and directed they can give a good few extra yards of vision.
