(G) Dealer Fit Alarm

Has anybody had a dealer fit alarm fitted yet on there 500??

If so, are you happy with it?

I had one fitted , what do you want to know about it?

it is a meta system that works with the original key fob, it has two black sensors and the flashing led bit , touch wood it has not gone off yet ....anything else?

How much was the fitting and is it a Thatcham 2:1 upgrade?

My GF was refused an alarm by the dealer saying that they simply aren't a factory option!!!

Unfortunately we don't live together & it was ages after that I found out. Upon chasing them & insisting, they still wouldn't back down & add it saying that it was now too late :-/

She has actually managed to get a £2.5K discount (serious fudging of books at their end to hide it) so wasn't so gutted about the idea of going out & paying for a retrofitted one.
I pointed out that given she could have managed that kind of discount on any other car brand her company deals with so their apalling knowledge of the product (or lack of ability to use the option picking system) is worrying!!!

No wonder if they have such idiots selling them that whenever I tell people I own a FIAT (Seicento in my case) they think I'm mad -

I'd be interested to know if the factory fit would be Thatcham upgrade?
