Was driving along today and as the mileometer passed 750 miles, the mileometer started flashing. Stopping the car and restarting later and everything returned to normal. Maybe it was telling me that it is run-in properly now :)

Happens quite often on my GP, I tell the dealer when it goes in, they say they have done the realignment etc and rectified it, a few weeks later it starts again, this has been going on for over a year...........It stops flashing after I restart it so I have stopped worrying about it. You will get used to these little idosyncracies.

there were ecu reprograms to sort this on the gp so i would expect there will be similar things for the 500

but untill fiat make these available then a proxy alignment is all your dealer can do in most cases this will sort it out

the dash flashes the miles and clock to warn that the proxy alignment needs set

it's all to do with the synchrony of the clocks in the dash body computer and convergence unit in order to keep the can networks on the car in check

it will in no way affect any working systems on the car so is buy no means a major issue but at the same time it is a problem and if it reoccurs after being set buy the dealer then it will need to be resolved one way or another as i say reprograms will probably sort it when available to dealers

now that i have heard this happening quite a bit i have taken to proxy aligning every new car i pdi
