Luggage carrier

We are thinking about getting a 500, however we need luggage space for holidays. Has anybody got/ seen or used the rear luggage carrier? I would like to know if you can carry suitcases on it? I have seen the picture in the brochure but that doesn't help. Anybody got any pictures of the rack in use?

Try the boot, we were so surprised by the size of it.

Although it is an odd shape, with 4 cases in there was lots of spare space around the cases due to the tapered nature of the boot.

Hence to tailored 500 luggae & hope to get made.

Thank's, however we need to have one back seat available for use and currently "fill" our 3door stilo, including the 60% side of the back with the seat down!!. Can anybody help?

Could one gently suggest that you might be considering the wrong car for your intended use?

I can appreciate your comments, however we really like the car and it will be used every day of the year, whereas holidays are only a couple of trips per year, the car being fully loaded only "there and back". We have had many cars with "unsuitable" bootspace but a set of roof bars comes to the rescue for holidays, even the cinquecento and seicento can take a roof rack!
So the 500 could be the right car for 48 weeks of the year, all I need to know is can the luggage rack carry suitcases?
