am i correct thinking that all alloys supplied with a sport model car feature a red ring around the centre cap?

my local dealer was unsure - we`ve ordered a bossa nova white sport 1.2 with red stripes down side and a red chequered roof. i think that if there was a red ring on the alloys it would really set it off - fingers and toes crossed!

anyone able to shed any light on the matter - looked through forum but couldn`t find any thread mentioning this!

thanks everyone:)

Unfortunately you won't get the red ring :( The red ring only comes on cars with the 1.4 engine and has been specced with the red brake caliper option. Yours will come with a chrome ring instead. Good luck with the order! :) :)

thanks for the bad news!!!

can the red rings be bought seperately then??? they must have a fiat part number and i assume would be a straight swop- pop old out and put red ones in.

someone must know the solution to my problem????

cheers all(y)

Yeah you'll be able to get the red ringed centre caps no poblem. Just gotta find the part number and see what your dealer can do! You never know... if you ask nicely, they might let you swap the wheel centres with their demonstrator Sport! :D

are the centres the same on all the alloys then?? cos i`m going for the 16"multispokes and i know they`ve got one with 15" alloys (red caps) in the dealership.

i bet someone on here knows the part number! if you do please help

ta

:D

im thought they came on all sports?

ive got them on my 1.4 sport with red caliper option, so you maybe correct.

yes you need to order the red caliper option (only on 1.4 ) to get red rings. i think im going to order spare red rings parts later on - or just take yours :p:p now theres a thought

lots of the options aren't very clear I didn't realise I'd get the red rings when I ordered the red calipers either... The chrome packs are odd as well. I wanted the chrome line at the bottom of the window so ended up ordering the chrome pack which duplicates a couple of the other items already chromed on the sport... pushed 'em for free mats to make up, strangely they had forgotten this when i picked the car up... got em in the end!

I must be honest the red rings do set off the wheels, but the (annodised) coating is a little delicate (to say the least). Whilst immaculate when new, there are a couple of scratches which show the shiny metal underneath and I have only done 3,000 miles. And NO, I have not so much as scuffed the alloys!

I was on good terms with my local Chipsaway franchisee but I'm not getting these things resprayed every month!

I'm still learning here folks so bear with....our 14 plate 0.9 500s has a red ring and red 500 on the centre caps (and by weekend will have red calipers). Would the centre's have been an extra on the 0.9?

Here in Australia the TA came with red ringed caps for a short time.

The TA first launched here was the TA+ (like mine), with is basically a Sport with a TA engine. Later they did the 'Rockstar' which was similar except tinted rear windows, red trim rings and I think they lost the gloss black roof.

Today you can only get a TA in Lounge spec in Oz though (n)

And only in auto! I'd like to figure out where my car fits into the scheme; 500C Lounge, 5/spd manual, 'Twinair' badge and leather. Far as I can tell it's either a special model called the 'Twinair' or, as Sunsets once suggested, a customer order from a deal that fell through. Either way, I was told it was the very last manual Lounge TA which does appear to be true..
