Re: Bespoke 500 Luggage

Is anyone thinking of making a baggy for in the passenger compartment for those of us who don't have a secret compartment under the seat?

Re: Bespoke 500 Luggage

Great idea about the boot shaped bags........especially the set of tri colore!
Spot on for a touring holiday.

However saw prototype bag (in boot) on a demo car and didn't think style or quality of manufacture up to scratch. Very homemade looking and cheap.
Not the "Aston Martin" standard as first perceived.

At the asking price there are far better alternatives.
Just my humble opinion.

As I said. GREAT IDEA maybe the production versions will be better.

Units are still a fair way away from mass production though I believe so quality will proberly improve as the production of them becomes more refined.

I can't agree that everything from Nuova500shop.com is expensive. Some of their items are exceptionally good value, some are not.

You pays your money and takes your choice. Some of their items are cheaper than Fiat...

I have done business with them and find them excellent....

In their defence, the "production" bags will have......

1. A better handle on top

2. A shoulder strap

3. A proper fibreboard base

4. Some nice studs on the bottom

Smile Re: Bespoke 500 Luggage

Sorry Mark,
Not slating your bag idea just nuovoshops manufacturing techniques and quality of workmanship.
A few extra bits and bobs wil not make that a good bag.

Maybe it's a girl thing but, as in Radley handbags, I would be prepared to pay good money if the items were gorgeous.

Maybe the supplier would get more interest properly developing their products before displaying them. I saw their 1.2 induction kit at Brooklands and the pipework was ZIPTIED to the WIRING LOOM Surely there is enough margin to make a few discreet brackets up?

Re: Bespoke 500 Luggage

Good for Mrs Elvin, Radley obviously sell a lot of bags/luggage for discerning customers.

Maybe nuovoshop will realise they are somewhat lacking in this area.

I reiterate I LOVE the original idea.

That's really bad. If they're like that with a car which is supposed to showcase how excellent their business is then what are they going to do to your car when they know that your car doesn't need to be a showcase for their company? The fact that as someone points out they sell official accessories for more than list price obviously tells you that they're just in it for the money. If people are really keen on the luggage perhaps you should track down someone who makes high quality leather goods and have something nice made. The prototype bag they've done looks really cheap and crappy. I've not dealt with this company but first impressions are not great if they want to charge over £250 for a set of three. Not bashing the idea as it's a good one as the 500 boot does look small but the quality of the work on that bag makes it look like it should be about a third of the price. I smell a huuuge profit margin and skimping on quality.

I know it's expensive stuff

http://www.ferraristore.com/Bags/p,s.../org_offset,0/

But doesn't that stuff just scream quality? Find a quality leather person and you'll get stuff just as good as that for less than what these jokers want to sell their stuff that almost looks like vinyl for.

I doubt these will reach mass production stages as they're very much a niche product and they're very expensive. With something like leather a gifted leather worked should be able to make something very nice right off the bat without needing to make lots of them to get his/her eye in so to speak

Ofcourse your right they will never go into mass production. But they will undoubtly go into a form of production where the process will be more refined than the one used in creating the prototypes.

Which is what I was meaning. I'll accept the term mass production was unsuitable.

I reckon it's worth hunting around a bit more. You could probably get a nice 3 seater chesterfield for about that price. Another thing you could look at would be having 2 bags instead of 3. Would cut costs as you would need less leather and stitching hence cutting costs. Get it done yourself and either add £20 on top for yourself per set or give people the direct contact of the person who makes them.

As soon as you start dealing with companies with names like The Bespoke Luggage Company you're paying a few hundred pounds just for the name.

Not bashing the concept Just the execution which in itself is not your fault
