NEW Discounted 500s at car supermarkets

Some dealers can't seem to sell all their 500s and are getting rid of them to car supermarkets who sell them to customers at a lovely discount.

Great for us who havent bought yet.

I Have found a car supermarket offering discount of over £900

Other peeps say they have found even better offers

Other car supermarkets will do this sort of thing in the end (a few months but must be one of the first tho
If U thought U couildnt afford one

think again

Ummm a 1.4 sport retails at £10,700 even if you did get £900 discount that still means your paying out £9800 You can go to a fiat dealer & get a nice new 1.2 pop with some nice extras for an awful lot less than that. Plus in my eyes the 1.4 is not the best engine choice for the 500, what with ever increasing fuel costs & road tax this makes the 1.2/1.3 mjt the best bets.

Still not ordered one yet then Ms Cinq

That is a different debate though! One of the big appeals of the 500 is the personalisation. I presume these are stock they have got hold of from dealers as demos or general showroom stock or even cancelled (or wrong) orders. The ability to get the exact 500 you want from a dealer would devalue general available stock IMHO.

Cheers

My sentiments as well.
Could be that my order that fiat built in error, and despite it saying delivery date mid Sept 08, could end up there.

Re: NEW Discounted 500s at car supermarkets

You might be right that they've got them but I just tried ringing them to see what they've got and managed to get through to the worst car salesman in the world!

Me: Hello I understand you have Fiat 500s in stock and shortly to come into stock
Him: Errrr.....no.
Me: Are you sure? It says you have on your website.
Him: Errrr..no we haven't. (Then asks someone next to him - 'we ain't got no Fiat 500s comin' 'ave we?' 'Naaaa, we ain't'
Me: Well I'm ready to buy a red one if you can find one
Him: No, we havent got any
Me: Are you absolutely positive as I'm ready to buy one...
Him:Positive
Me: OK. Bye then!

So if anyone from Trade Sales reads this, send me an email and you can sell a car by return!

Re: NEW Discounted 500s at car supermarkets

DONT READ THIS if ou just paid full price for a 500

The discounts have started. They started at dealers near me 2 weeks ago and supermarkets this week.

Dealer offering £1400 upgrade so 1.3 or 1.4 for 1.2 price or sport/lounge for pop money but you had to take out their finance agreement and I ended up 500 to 700 quid better off not 1400.

Supermarket deals Ive seen offering 500 to 900 pounds off. Not just trade-sales.Look around for yourself I'll get slaggd off for telling y'all abouts the discounted ones and where they are.If U had just paid list price for a 500 last week U would be pee'd off if some mare told you they was discounted now.

See also nf500 guy who has his name down for a trade-sales 500
I put link earlier in the thread and will prob get told off for that too.

Re: NEW Discounted 500s at car supermarkets

Good luck to who ever get a discount, I didn't but I orederd exactly what I wanted & am happy (as long as I get it next month)

For those who can't afford it tho' this is good too, more cars on the road bigger club more fun I say

Re: NEW Discounted 500s at car supermarkets

If you have a trade in you will get rock bottom price so the savings aren't as big as they may seem.

Plus regardless what they say who do you think will get preferential service (like offering manager's cars when the courtesy cars are all booked out) the customer who bought the car from them or someone who walks in with a car from another source?

All cars can be bought cheaper from supermarkets as dealers shift surplus stock and from all sorts of sources (there are "brand new" pre facelift 156s available for instance) yet it doesn't mean the dealers are forced to discount to compete. Golf GTIs are a good example where discounts are only available from supermarkets.

If you want a certain spec and the reasurrance of a dealer purchase then a dealer is the place to go, if a supermarket has your exact car at a reduced price and have no trade in and aren't bothered with a dealer relationship than that makes sense too. No right answer, whatever suits your needs...

Cheers
Baldrick

Re: NEW Discounted 500s at car supermarkets

Officially there no dealer discounts on 500s but
Pewsham garages and others have advertised them at discounts, until Fiat told them off .

The 500s are selling slow at some dealers and it improves the dealers cash flow getting rid to car supermarkets

A bit quick to be getting them at car supermarkets tho isnt it
Only 6 weeks after launch.

They usually wait til we have all spent up and is skint and then they sell them off.
