Spare Wheel

Folks

on the "other" 500 forum, a poster has complained that he had no spare wheel delivered with his new 500. All the 500s I have looked at certainly had a spare wheel, and the space saver spare is listed as standard fitment on all models on the Fiat website and in the brochure. Has anyone here not had a spare come with their new car?

John

I think the 500 does come with a spare except when you have 16" wheels. The reason is that the spare 16" won't fit in the spare well. So they supply you with gunk & a pump (a bit like my civic).
Not ideal & enough to make me think twice about 16" wheels

Cheers

Re: Spare Wheel

Hmmm.

This doesn't make much sense. The 1.4 Sport demo at Vospers has 16" wheels and it does have a spare. All the space saver spares are 14", but this is no problem as the rolling radius is almost the same for 14, 15 and 16 wheels (the tyre profile gets lower as the rim gets bigger).

Re: Spare Wheel

perhaps models with 16" as standard dont get a spare ,but those paying for an upgrade retain their standard fit spare?

I thought all 16" alloys were optional, the Lounge & Sport coming with 15" alloys as standard?

Cheers

Re: Spare Wheel

I upgraded from standard 15'' alloys to 16'' O spoke alloys (420) and I most definitely have a spare!
