Re: Music from memory stick

One question I do have...

Does anyone know if the self executable programs that ship already installed on some USB sticks interfere with B&M??

There are 2 types of iTunes download. Standard and DRM-free Plus format. The standard downloads, which are encoded at 128kbps and labeled as 'Protected AAC File' will not play. The DRM-free Plus downloads, which are encoded at 256kbps and labeled as 'Purchased AAC File' will play

It's the same with all DRM-protected music, not just iTunes. If it was up to Apple all the music they sell would be un-protected, it's down to the record companies that won't budge on copy protection. This is all changing however, EMI were the first company to go DRM-free and alot have followed (in the US at least).

Which card reader have you gone for - or would you recommend?

I'm either going to go down the SD route or get a small portable harddrive with about 80-160-250 GBs space

Re: Music from memory stick

Don't fret about the iTunes purchased stuff - I just burned mine to CD then changed the track names slightly and ripped them back to iTunes as mp3. Worked a treat and they play via iPod or from memory stick just fine in the car.

However - car won't recognise playlists on either iPod or memory stick! Any suggestions? Memory stick playlists were created through Windows Medial Player and then the whole lot sync'd to memory stick inf 6 dreary hours.

Ooooh, me likey, but 30GB would be enough for me... Though using my Creative Zen would probably be the easiest thing to do *shrugs*

Re: Music from memory stick

Does anyone know if there is an option to have the music playing in a random order from a stick via car menu?

Thanks

Re: Music from memory stick

The random function can be accessed by saying "F*ck off" as a voice command, which will be recognised by Blue and me as "Shuffle on"
