My Sport should be in the country by the 20th - 23rd Feb. So il register for March 1st.

My Lounge is due another 2 weeks after so middle of March.

The Sport is the first dealer car, from my dealer? 21st Jan launch = 1st March for cars.

il not go into it but ive looked back and i actually registered my interest in May 07 and put a deposit down in June 07.

so its been a long wait.

I put my deposit down on 5th October 2007 and I'm week 5 build. Was told end of Feb beginning of March for delivery, but dealers now gone quiet on me.

BTW, the 5oo launch was in one of the trash mags, Star I think it was, and it said about the "celebs", Kelly Osbourne etc, at the London Eye and then went on to say that the Goodie Bag for the event was . . . a new car . . . by which I take it they mean a new 5oo!

I'm now thinking of selling mine as soon as it arrives!

Yeah she was on the Chris Moyles show the day after launch. Said she was getting a free car but has to wait till april..............................

She said it was a 500 and it looks awesome, cool etc etc and she was getting one for free, with the long wait haha

yeah by drinking free champagne and talking about the launch. must be hard work being a celeb

Damn. The 500 meant to be a peoples car, we have to work hard to make the money to buy em, they shouldn't be poncing up the image by giving them away to people to whom 12 grand is like pocket change.

They should have given those goodie bags to the random fans who braved the rain and stood outside.

Imagine following the 500 since the 2004 concept and then getting one unexpectedly from Fiat for free.

Now that's a gesture to the people....forget the celebs...we are not a bunch of sheep that need a minor nobody celeb to drive the car that we like in order for us to buy it.

FIAT give them away because they know the "celebs" will mention their new car in interviews and get in the trash mags and papers driving them. You can't buy advertising on the BBC but that's effectively what Kelly Osborne has done for FIAT by mentioning the 5oo on Moyles's show.

When you equate this to advertising costs the car soon more than pays for itself . . well that's the crude way of looking at it in PR terms. Brand image is also important.

UPDATE:

My car has landed within the UK and is currently at a TDI centre.

It will be in the North East by Wednesday of next week for 1st march registration.

My lounge is now in build.

My car it think was a week 4 or week 5 build so who ever has been told that was there build week then call your dealer.

Mine is in Portbury also, should be with the dealer by 22nd at the very latest apparently.

Exciting stuff chaps! Are we waiting for the 08 plate or having them straight away? Tough decision!

I really don't know. I guess I need to see when it arrives at the dealer. Have transfered payment from the savings to the current account, so all ready to pay whenever I decide to collect.

just going to wait until march i think, ive waited this long another week shouldnt hurt.

if my lounge was here instead it would of been registered as this is needed more than the sport.

hopefully the car will be correct first and foremost.
