There will be "Dualogic" – a clutchless, 5-speed sequential manual shift with a selectable fully automatic mode available on the petrol models.

My dealer said they are expecting delivery of these in the UK around July.

Dualogic's have a clutch, but it's automated. ;)

On a funny note I mentioned my Audi DSG company car has two clutches (one for gears 1,3 & 5 and the other for gears 2, 4 & 6), a girl in the office thought it sounded complicated knowing which clutch pedal to press...)

Ok the dualogic is a clutch pedal less, 5 speed sequential...

So why is the dualogic such a no no? Is it prone to failure...or is it just crap?

Anyone tried the smart auto??? I drove a hire version whilst on holiday...

It felt like a learner driver had taken over and was free wheeling the engine while they tried to find the gear, before engaging it with a shudder...was unbelievably crap...

So is the dual logic anything like that cos if it is steer well clear....!!!!

nothing wrong with dual logic systems, the system the 500 uses I have had only one problem with (on a idea). The dual logic is capable of being more reliable, improving life of clutch & faster gear changes (sport mode).

Whilst waiting for the MOT to be done on the Panda today I went and visited Fiat in Oldbury :)

Got to play with the new 500, I was impressed - It was lovely! :D

And the dealer informed me, yes there is an automatic :slayer:

1.2 Dualogic is available to order now for March build, and 1.4 Dualogic will be available to order from February for April build.

The dualogic at the moment still hasn't had the calibration freeze, FPTand MM usually have a period of 8-10 weeks after calibration sign off before end of line flashing can happen, so at the moment April looks tight.
