Hello.

I test drove the new Fiat 500 1.4 sport version, i loved the car, it felt like a rally Car / BMW mini. was drivng down motorway and the car just filled with smoke, pulled over checked all the engine levels, checked under the hood no obv signs ! ... drove off again and it filled with smoke! no heater was on, nothing. the car had done 6miles when i took it out, took it back with 14miles on the clock! .. didnt over rev it, drove nice and slow and gentel.. but filled with smoke again!

however i did notice it had a "Designed for Microsoft Windows" logo inside the car, maybe this is why !

I would still buy the car looking past the MAJOR problem i experienced! :p

I know the Pandas have a habit of filling up with smoke when they are brand new. Something to do with a coating on the inside of the heater matrix.

It's usually burned off before a customer gets anywhere near the vehicle.

it was smoking and i was chocking! ... hazy smoke! i didnt notice it at first, until i was unable to breath!

probably something on a hot part of the exhaust or sumet managing to get into the heater somehow

i cant imagine smoke coming from a heater matrix they don't come coated in anything

anyway dealer shouldn't let people drive cars until they have been pdi and test driven for more than 8 miles with a full tank of fuel ie fuel light off allowing eobd to function properly

bad dealer i think wouldn't like to take my car there

SUE THEM :D

A while ago I'm fairly sure there was a report saying that at least one make of car (Volkswagen?) could have its mileage reset once or twice and this was apparently done shortly before final delivery so as to give the impression that the car hadn't actually done 30 or so miles after leaving the factory, though that practice may have stopped years ago.

There have also been past horror stories of new cars having their engines revved hard/generally abused by dock workers as they were quickly driven off the ramp of the cargo vessel to the holding area, but whether this still applies anywhere I don't know.

When mine reached 180.000 KM, owner rewind it to 83.000 KM, so not reset, but a made up figure...
Off course I think you can still read the right mileage with Fiat diag equipment

Well only way to prove it is to take a pic of the clock, and a service history, last one was done at abbout 180.000 KM, it says "engine lost oil" so a resseler bought it with a burnt engine, put a 30.000 KM one in, and adjusted the mileage to 83.000
If this is impossible, I'm ever so happy, but the chassis number in service history does match mine, last one was at 180.000 and on my clock is 94.000 (now, was 83.000)
