Parked my 2014 Cinquecento Sport (named Java Bean) for a few months in my parents' driveway in the mountains. Had fuel stabilizer in a full tank and cozied the Bean under a cover. Went to start her today. No go. The starter turned, the coils clicked, but the fuel electrical light went on. Opened the hood and found a chewed up battery insulator and a nest.

Anyone know where the fuel injector lives? Thinking the mouse might have chewed wires to it.

That's a nuisance! Look for pipes coming from throttle body area and work backwards-if it has chewed a pipe, there should be a strong fuel smell and it should be dripping on the floor. Check the map sensor wires as crank sensor wires are intact-then get a cat!

Given the proximity to the engine Ecu and the fuse box it is almost certain it's chewed through some wires there.

Generally in these situations you'll find a dead mouse laying across what it's chewed, making finding the fault a lot easier, although the relatively low voltage in cars isn't often that lethal for them.

If the mouse chewed a fuel line, I'm sure my dad would have noticed. Plus, the appropriate light is lit telling me is an electrical line. I'll definitely look for map sensor wires if I know where to look. Are they near the throttle body?

I'm pretty sure it's going to be a low-voltage wire. Everything else seems to work electronically. But ECU area is a great place to start.

Thanks, guys!

Does anyone have a diagram? Where the heck is the map sensor?

Oh yeah, and reading up on the troubleshooting guide, it said the particular indicator was for electrical to the fuel pump.
