Just got my new iPhone 6S, paired it with Flavio and I can make phone calls and use my address book. When I try to play my music from the phone, the music only plays through the phone. What gives?

I've tried the Blue & Me update USB thing but my car doesn't engage the stick data.

As an Iphone user and a 500 owner it didn't take me long to realise that Blue&Me was not very well thought out or designed and they deliberately left some features out as a practical joke to wind us all up. Mines riddled with quirks that I've learned to live with or work around and I've accepted only being able to use the actual telephone part of the Iphone with the car. I'd love to stream media to my car but I've ended up using Streamwriter and Mi:LOL:J to grab the content from the web and just write 16 hours worth to individual CD-Rs - I've done this for years. Actually less mucking about and my Iphone hasn't been thrown at the dashboard in anger again since that one time :p

The Blue&Me app on the Iphone store is not worth even downloading as it makes your mobile web radio sound like you're listening to it on an old telephone handset on the handsfree so not worth bothering with and certainly not worth paying for.

I know that I've had issues with the 64gb USB micro drive I've got plugged into my blue&me USB port (I've got a natty iPhone dash mount with charger located on the right side of the steering wheel on the dashboard (RHD) so I don't need the USB for charging.
It takes AGES to update the USB library- there's a limit to how many tracks I can add at a time. I've divided it into folders ('Rat Pack', 'Disco', '80s' etc) but I can only add one folder at a time- and it takes SO long to update each time, and the car won't play anything! I usually have to make a temporary CD so I've got some music while it updates! I wish I knew how long it would take to simply bang the whole lot on, start the car and leave it running in my lockable gated courtyard, and come back 'x' hours later and it'd just BE DONE! ??

I had this delay issue on an aftermarket pioneer unit with a64GB usb. I had multiple artist full collections, you name it , live albums, studio albums, bootlegs etc.

Recently I basically switched from that amount of music to one single folder with the songs and albums I actually listen to. Around 1,500.

Now when I turn the car on in less than a second music plays :)

I take it these cars your talking about are all older models? Does anyone know if the series 4 (2016) still has the same issues?

I have the new model and it both streams music from my iPhone as well as via the Internet without issue.

In addition, the new model has apps built in which include Twitter, Facebook etc. However, I can't think why! But one of the apps is Deezer and as a Deezer subscriber once linked to my account, it allows me to play my own playlists created online, or via my home Sonos system.

Ok great! And thanks for your reply!

hmmm i have a 2013 pop and an Iphone 6s paired right up and plays music just fine. i would say if your having issues it is in the settings of your phone not the blue&Me system. its a very simple straightforward USB transfer script. it can also be the cabal if its old or even a new one they can be defective right out of the box this is Apple we are talking about forget the hype there products are not that well made, Iphone 4's and 5's are notorious for having bad input jacks try cleaning it out with a brush make sure there are no bent connectors. also some times when it connects it automatically mutes the music try pushing the mute button on and off. last resort you might have a software corruption in the phone make sure you are doing your weekly Iphone updates on the computer not what your carryer dose over its signal that is not directly from Apple.

The new style media systems are wireless via Bluetooth and don't need a cable. The issue is almost certainly within the phones settings, as both Android and iOS devices need a further setting checked within their Bluetooth settings to enable text messages to pass through to the cars media system.

Hi,

I am new to this forum. I recently bought a 2015 Fiat 500 Sport and have an iPhone 6. When I first got the car Blu&me was working great in its entirety. I updated my phone last week and now I am having the same issue. I cannot play music though my Fiat speakers. Phone calls work fine but it also no longer shows who I am talking on on my dash(maybe thats a setting?). I think i have to downgrade my iOS to get this compatible again.

Hi,

I am new to this forum.

Hello and welcome to the forum .

I think I have to downgrade my iOS to get this compatible again.

Unfortunately in today's world we're often just one upgrade away from breaking something that previously worked fine. Fiat often seem to be about two or three generations behind the latest 'phones.

Have you checked to see if there's an update to the Blue&Me system?

I have a 2009 Fiat 500c paired with my iPhone 6s through the Blue&Me USB device. Works perfectly, never had any problems.

I think you might need to update the Blue&Me device on your computer. Mine worked straight out of the box when I ordered mine, so you'll have to look for that yourself I guess.

All I can say is: iPhone 6s with blue&me usb plug works on my 2009 fiat 500c

Do you know if is possible to display the artists name on the radio when playing an iPod from the USB connection in a 2014 500?
