My 2014 Fiat 500e has been sitting at the repair shop for 6 weeks, awaiting an intercooler. Seems that Fiat Chrysler does not have intercoolers available for current 500e owners.

Anyone know of some place that may have them? I've already got an assigned Fiat Chrysler special parts manager, but it seems all they do is just pick a number from the cloud as to the next ETA for availability. And when that ETA date comes around, they just pick another date. Been happening for the past 6 weeks.

My local Santa Monica Fiat Studio is also on top of Fiat Chrysler, but no luck.

It's making me wonder what they put in the new 500e's at the assembly line, because if they can't get one for me in 6 weeks, how do they get them for their new cars? Or, is it possible that Fiat Chrysler USA just does not care about its current 500e owners.

Any help or ideas appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the forum .

Sorry to hear you're having problems sourcing an intercooler (n).

These days, neither manufacturers nor dealers want to keep large stocks of high value parts sitting idly on shelves.

If parts are in short supply, I guess Fiat figure they can make more money in the short term by using them to build new cars, than repairing the existing fleet (n)(n).

But that's no excuse for not supporting what you sell. (n)(n)(n)

Zackly! My new car was off the road for six weeks at one stage waiting for a seat-belt and would have been off the road for seven weeks:eek: waiting for a clutch hydraulic pipe (had not the dealer jury-rigged a part from another car - full marks to them by the way(y)).
