GoPedal changes the signal curve, so the car does respond more quickly -- simply mashing the pedal harder doesn't give the same result.
Yes it changes pulses at a given throttle position, thereby altering the response curve. So at 20% throttle it actually feeds the ECU say a 40% signal. Its tricks the brain into thinking the car is more responsive and in a way it is.
Ten years ago I built a pulse interceptor for a Porsche 928 E diff that fooled the ECU into giving me 100% control of the LSD function, from fully open to fully locked
That was before things like Arduino made DIY electronics so easy. Now I could have full adjustment as well as custom curves and the potential for extra inputs like steering angle or even a G sensor.
Next week UFI's battery is being replaced with supercapacitors
