Here is some info from Chris who runs the www.fiat500usa.com website which is the best and most complete that I've found that specializes on the NA (USA) Fiat 500. Here is answer to a question asking about the forthcoming NA Abarth and its horsepower output:

"All info is strictly guarded, so it's hard to say EXACTLY what the car will have. The 170hp was the preliminary info released, we may get that or, like the esseesse version in Europe, as an optional package.

One thing I can say after talking to folks that know is this car will be hard core. A LOT of performance and it will out perform the Euro car. You will not be disappointed!"

Hi im Dave in Germany. From the US. I have a late 2009 Abarth 500. You will love this car when it hits the US market. Enjoy it! I know I do. :slayer:

Ive got the G-Tech ECU which gives a touch more power than the SS package and I have the SS brakes from the factory. This car is very very capable and is a joy to drive. I know there will be some differences with the US model, but here in Germany I can drive mine in ways which would put you in jail in the US. That part of the US car culture I do not miss. If you can come to Germany and enjoy motoring. I hope the Abarth arrives soon, it will be worth the wait!!!
