Re: Hard Ride

The Eibach stuff is TUV approved, so that should be a good omen!

Re: Hard Ride

Fingers crossed ! Sounds like a bit of bureaucracy that reminds me of Portugal whereby even factory fit options cause grief if you try to register a secondhand car there! My brother tried to re-register a Merc there some years ago and they would not approve the AMG option wheels. Had to borrow some standard fit alloys to get it through!

Re: Hard Ride

just spoke to my German dealer ( well my missus did, she's the German speaker) and for 400 euro they will do it all, parts included. It will be done ready for car pickup in November. I don't know what type they will be fitting but it will be a drop of between 20-20 mm. Oh and it will keep the warranty because they are doing it and using Fiat approved parts.

w00t w00t.

Re: Hard Ride

The dampers on the Fiat 500 are the real problem. If you understand something about dampers, you'll understand that these are the cheapest kind of dampers they could have selected.

In fact.. as we are currently setting up a new business unit which will be totally focussed at the new 500, we have all data and parts prices from Fiat. These dampers are sold to the public at approx. 60 quid each. (fronts). There's no way in this world you can buy a proper damper for that kind of money.

We are in the process of developing a complete kit of dampers and springs for the Fiat 500. These will not be cheap as they are going to be the real deal: height and bump/rebound adjustable mono tube dampers. As we stand now, these will be the first professional dampers available for the Fiat 500. All others are based at the same principle as the cheapo original parts.
From the experience we have on other cars, I can tell you these dampers will improve the ride by 100%.
It'll take some time, but I'll certainly post up when they're ready
