a couple of cable ties..

a couple of Sandwich bags..

old paint brush

Water displacement spray I used this
http://www.bilthamber.com/lubrication/ferrosol

wd-40 or the like should be fine..... But might react with the last stage coating.....

Waxoil type product i true to form stuck with bilt hamber and used their clear offering....

So

First off clean the mounts using a degreaser and paint brush and rinse well and dry the excess water from the mount with kitchen roll...

Next shake the rust remover well (i used the stuff above as ive found it paintwork safe) and apply THICKLY a minimum of 2mm thickness is recommended.

So once thats applied take a sandwich bag and cover the mount then use a cable tie to secure it...

then do the other side.......

Once its applied leave it for a minimum of 24 hours you can massage it occasionally to help the reaction process.... (i left it for a week due to the weather and dark nights.)

now once its been left a while remove the bag from the mounts and stir up with a paint brush whilst rinsing well and ensure you rinse it out of the scuttle area.....

(you might need another treatment depending on the results you have achieved and the time you left it...)

again blot dry it the best you can.....

then apply your de-wetting fluid to drive any water off the now clean and shiney steel

then blot that dry as you can and leave an hour or so for any residue to evaporate...

Now rightly or wrongly i applied the Dynax UC clear wax straight over the Ferrosol base been the same brand i hope they are compatible

You can now leave it as it is as its now not going to rust and should any suspension work need to be done the nut should undo nice and easy.......

for those who want you can order part number 51938656 from a Fiat dealer or flea bay to finish the job off nicely....
