Greetings, Prior to my next:mad: engine rebuild I wish to get everything balanced up, can all you good people recommend anywhere - I'm in North Yorkshire geographically but willing to consider anything (y)(y)
Thanks All.

Ian.

Evening Ian;
'Blitz Racing', who did a lot of 126 tuning for their buggies, used to recommend "Oselli Engineering" in Milton Keynes for balancing. A couple more companies are:- "Wilkinson Dynamic Balancing" in Halesowen, and "Andrews Precision" in Bromsgrove (Worcs). We did have a Forum member who lived in Harrowgate and who had his crank balanced--I will try again to contact him and find out who he used.

apparently the task is complex for such a simple engine. I have read of many peoples experiences - the two cylinder engine is tricky to balance.....my engine builder sub-contracted the work out to a specialist and he nearly went mad completing the work. There was a requirement for a large quantity of heavy metal to put in it.
Are you going to balance all of the components?
Crank
rods
pistons
flywheel
pulley??

Hi Andrew, Yep the whole nine yards (y)(y)Along with Tom's suggestions I have something to work on. Did you just have a standard crank or was it special i.e. BIS or with nitriding treatment ????

Ian.

i had a standard crank - that I removed the plugs from - cleaned out and had welded back in place. They have a habit of blowing out with tuned engines.

I had supplied the builder with my Athena kit of barrels, pistons and rods and then had flywheel lightened to 4 KG and balanced - an uprated clutch balanced, pulley balanced and all polished.
