Hi guys,
Complete car novice here. I'm going to look at a 1970 fiat 500 L tomorrow (with my old man, who knows a bit about cars). I've always fancied a fiat and saw this one today at a country show. Imported last year from Italy, left hand drive. What do I need to look out for?
Thanks for you time,
Rhiannon

Rust rust rust.....anything else is simple. Watch out for a car full of filler.
Sills, door bottoms, floorpans, under front bonnet, around rear suspension and sunroof all likely rust spots.
Mechanically the most straight forward car going.
Many cars recently imported are shiny.....but look and poke around......paint is cheap - rust is not.

I would say....
Have a look at Seans posts; Franko500.....
and think "If I got it wrong would I have to do all that!!"

be wary of nice paint.... ask for pictures of the restoration showing before paint and primer....
If there aren't any why not???
If you are proud of the work you would photograph it..

RUST as everyone says,.. a short word but a big problem.
