I accept that this sounds a very silly request, but will one of you gents (or ladies) out there doing a total rebuild advise me what seal there is on the foot-well bulkhead for the steering box input-shaft--is it just the black round grommet? My steering box has a foam 'collar' which obviously goes between the steering box and the outside of the foot-well bulkhead, but I need to have confirmed what seals the hole in the bulk-head from the INSIDE. The reason for my problem is that whilst I stripped what we thought was going to be enough of the front of the car, due to the additional work that eventually has had to be carried out, the body-shop did further stripping. Any advise/pictures would be much appreciated.

If I've read your post right Tom I think this photo may help. Its a black round rubber seal held in place with three screws.

Thank you Damian---you have confirmed what I thought the answer was--I just needed a picture to confirm.

Thank you Sean, appreciated. Are they bolts/nuts or self-tappers that hold the seal in place--Damian?
