Well progress has been made!!!
:)

It's still not running perfect, but there is definately a vast improvement since I last posted.
With all things as before I replaced the Nanoplex Ecu with a new APE one that was ordered in from Poland. It was literally the only part that I didn't have 2 or 3 of to switch around and rule things out.
As soon as the APE unit was plugged in and I fired the car up it ran a hell of a lot better on idle, and when I tried to rev the engine at the carb - it worked!!
It is still not perfect by all means, but any progress is good news. I'm still struggling to get any decent throttle responce but after reading a lot into the dellorto carb - it sounds like it's more carburetor related than anything else.

I'm still intreagued to know if this is related to timing differences because of the new camshaft as the ape unit has more advanced timing, but I guess I'll have to figure that out somehow? Any volunteers out there able to check the nanoplex unit for me to see if it's just down to that being dud?

Was just looking through my old posts and found this - so thought I should tell how it was finally solved.....

Eventually, after investing in another dellorto carb, another Nanoplex, another hall sensor, checking and double checking everything, it eventually ended up that I had to trace all the wiring as there was nothing else it could be. All the parts had been swapped round and nothing changed. The car started, but didn't run properly.

I spoke with various different specialists, and all were baffled!!

Finally I solved it and I was ecstatic and fuming at the same time!! The polski engine has a 'Hall sensor' which picks up a magnet on the crank (near the timing marks) This is connected into a plastic plug and leads back to the nanoplex ECU. The wire on mine had in the past been split between the ecu connection and the sensor plug and rewired the wrong way round. Then it had been wrapped in loom tape. I swapped this around and the car drove fine straight away!!! I was so plesed to have him running, but am still gutted that it was something so simple and stopped me from doing the lap at silverstone for the anniversary :(

Hopefully one day this will help someone else!

To reserect this thread I just ordered a Nanoplex system and planning to install as well as buy a spare ECU and sensor to have them in my trunk since I don't trust electronics, my engine is also tuned, will you recommend the APE unit instead of Marelli? Is it really better than standard?
