Just to remind my case that i had brand new axle shafts but new spacers was impossible to crash, they where stronger than axle thread so i turned them down little by little on my lathe until i got the desire length and finally correct torque.:D

I had a nice long drive a few days ago in the dublin mountains, really great, got lost, got home, most enjoyable drive in my 500 to date !
In a shorter drive a few days later I thought of checking the hubs regarding the noisy hub which I ended up tightening to rid myself of the noise.
Left side , cool as a cucumber, right side, (previously noisy side) very warm !
I am beginning to think my previously shredded axle coupling was from heat from the bearings !
I am ordering the bearings and seals, however I cannot seem to find spare clips that go in the bearings ?
Anyone know where to source them, I was getting the other items from AG.
I may be able to use the one that are in situ, but thought I would be prepared with spares.
Also, is it easy enough to disassemble and reassemble the hub ?
Any tips , if required , which I have no doubt there will be.
Also, when doing the previous job , I think one of the shocks looks leaky, is that possible ?
Is there much involved in replacement and should I be just swooping out shocks or the seals etc also ?
Thanks again as always, I manage to carry out jobs which I would never have thought I was capable of without all the unbelievably helpful people on this forum !
Thanks ! Darryl

Do you mean the cotter pins?

Hi Thomas,

Those are spacer rings Darryl. I cant recall seeing these on any of the usual sites. You will be able to re-use the old ones

I will send you later Damians file, do you also have Haynes manual?
