Prompted by a discussion that started in another thread, here are my observations from today:
I got caught unawares by a bit of snow that fell overnight on my planned route today. I was out early and no gritters had been through. It was plain sailing until I got to the back of a queue of five modern cars. They were going so slowly (15mph) that I decided I couldn't stand the next 30 miles like that and abandoned my journey. One of them did let me past and I honestly did not have a single worrying moment in the 25 miles of icy and snowy road that I drove on. The original 125-12 Pirellis are effectively snow tyres anyway. In my modern car I know I wiuld have had many very tense moments.
You must try it , at least once.
I forgot a memory card (ironic?) for my dashcam so here's some shaky footage from my mobile, obviously with one-handed driving!
