I can't seem to get the brakes to bleed. When replacing the master cylinder do you have to do any prep work on the master cylinder before you are able to bleed any of the slaves? I still see air in the line between the reservoir and the master cylinder.

Hi. No just bleed as normal starting with the wheel cylinder the farthest
away and work you way forward.I sometimes start with a few very quick
pushes on the pedal just to dislodge any trapped air.

Rick;
You say that there is air between the master-cylinder and the reservoir?--this is not correct--there should be NO sign of air between these 2 parts. Check that the clip on the pipe on the underside of the reservoir is tight. If you start pulling air into the top of the master-cylinder you will never bleed it properly.
Congratulations on finding your throttle screw and spring--phew!!

Thanks. It was a lucky find. I purchased a new tube to seat between the reservoir and master cylinder...and I also have a new master cylinder on the way just in case.

My current "to do" list

1. Bleed brakes
2.adjust valves
3. Get headlights and tail lights (parking and brake) working
4. Diagnose and find source of oil leak on forward side of engine
