Does anyone know where I can find a leather boot lid strap? The one that stops the boot opening too wide?

I'm told that new ones now are made of wire.

Or is it a case of bastardising my belt – which could be revealing

I am on my 4th Cinquecento, the first one when I was an apprentice was a 'suicide door' version, and as far as I can remember, they have all had wire boot-lid straps. If you do decide to make a 'leather-strap' version, make sure that it stays well clear of the exhaust when you close the engine cover (aka boot lid).

That amost reminds me of a spare tire strap they substituted fo the cable.

Now you mention it 'Lux', I would tend to agree with you---I thought that I had seen that metal part somewhere else.

According to the Passione 500 website there are two types available dependent on the model of your car.
