I've just realised that my brake lights aren't working, and I suspect haven't been since the panel shop worked on my wheel arches and swapped my steering column ignition for the centre dash version.

The bulbs are OK, and the fuse is also OK (given that the other things driven by that fuse are working).

The Haynes manual doesn't reference the brake light switch. Does anyone know where that is and if it's likely that this has been disturbed as a result of the arch and ignition work?

it s on the front of the brake master cyclinder , it might just be a wire has come of owen nw

Join the two spade terminals at the switch, stops should light, if not then clean them and retry.
Still no light? Locate connector in red wire somewhere behind fuses which might be hard to find. Split and connect jump wire from positive battery to the part that goes to the back of the car. If lights come on it's either connections need cleaning or remaking or faulty or loose switch at cylinder.
PS. First test with ignition on.

Thanks everyone. The lights come on when I touch the wires together, so it looks like the switch is faulty. I've ordered a new one.
