Here's the new console from Ricambio and the stereo, a Caliber RCD110 that looks retro but has CD, MP3, SD Card, Auxiliary and USB capability. Works a treat and looks just about right to fill in a gap.

Cool style form Hugh Jarce.

That looks really nice, wasn't sure about interior on Franko, but this maybe the way to go! Basics for the D though.

Well thank you Sean, I like to set thing up nice but not too over the top. Next focus is the wheels, some nice alloys on the cards. My next resto will be stock, management has seen an Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spyder 1960, they are so beautiful they have to be original, just got to find the cash now, ha ha ha.:D

Cheers

How do you hear anything above the engine noise ... :)

In my case I try to leave it behind by going faster but it doesn't always work.

Chris

Back in the old days when loud music was a big part of my life and real in-car Hi-fi was in its infancy, I used to go around with a pair of Mordaunt Short 150 watt speakers in the back seat of the Fiat. They must have weighed 25 kilos each and meant no-one could sit in the back. They certainly drowned out the engine.

Point them backwards and they may assist with thrust :D

Your console looks very nice. I've been thinking of something similar for auxiliary gauges (oil temp, fuel, oil pressure & ?tacho) rather than ICE. I have all of the instruments and the wiring should not be a problem.

Watch out for the 500 driver with blood dripping from his ears.

However, I've always thought I had excellent taste in music, so volume up and windows down was my contribution to the environment.

Well Chris, when the interios was completed extra sound deadening went in and also, the Kenwood speakers knock out a combined 220Watts of power. It sounds very good at all rev ranges and not only that, it does a great job with Led Zeppelin, I too am a fan from the 70's.

Cheers
Hugh Jarce, (ears not bleeding yet Tim).

Good to hear Hugh. I wondered if that was why you painted your car red.

I was never a Led Zep fan. I'm embarrassed to say that Status Quo was more my thing. However, don't worry, I'm a bit more sophisticated these days.

I did manage to see Queen with the legendary FM at Wembley though.

Hit me with that wobbly gearstick...
;)
Saw them at Manchester Apollo back in approx. 1980

Late December 1980 in London for me. Also saw The Pretenders, The Clash etc. that year.

Now back on topic before I get knuckled by one of the board invigilators, where did the console come from? Ricambio?

Yes, back on topic, that looks really well designed and fitted and enhances the interior, although I think that if God had meant the Fiat to have a console then he would have made them like that.
That's me, too purist even to fit the factory console in an "F". :bang:

Looks great Hugh and I was thinking of fitting the consul too. Not sure if it's the photo but it looks a little cramped. is there enough space for it?

I know space is at a premium in these little cars. Just wondered if it encroaches on the driver's space? How does it feel to drive?

Interested in the speakers too, since there's not a huge amount of space on the parcel shelf. Did you have to do any mods to fit those in?

Cheers
