Yeah I commented to Peter about that on the other forum. Also why wouldn't you change the clutch that costs €60 when you have just spent £2000 on an engine rebuild???

Tony

And who would spend £2000 skimming the head for 6hp when you could put in a 650 engine and gearbox for £800 and almost double that figure and dont have to double declutch?

All I could imagine was that Bernie was showing untypically good taste in giving some "pep" whilst maintaining a certain originality of looks...unlikely though.

Well Mario and Bernie made it down under surprisingly quickly- on TV here tonight... Amazing how many text messages I received to let me know!
I too am stunned at the huge cost of such minor mechanical work compared to the rest of the project- would have thought the wheels and tyres would have been the most expensive purchase yet were not even mentioned!
The repaired area of the floorpan was a very unusual area to patch although the car did look surprisingly solid for a 'classic car rescue'
So in the TV spirit of 'reality' the big question is has this car popped up for sale anywhere at 9,000 quid? :p

Damon, I didn't realise that you were on the other side of the world.
Over here there was a phone-in "competition" straight after the broadcast where calls cost a couple of quid and got you into a draw to win the car. So it should appear for sale in a few weeks:D

I saw this Fiat 500 on "Cars that Rock" the other day but this clip from RTL in Germany shows the 500 Lamborghini and another tuned one.
