I've been putting this job off for a while, largely because I've had many other things to do. When I stripped my 500F I measured everything I noticed at the time that the two track rods were of different lengths, so the toe-in can't have been correct. Now that I've reassembled the car, I need to get it safety checked for registration and one of the things I'll do prior to that is drive it to a steering place to have the toe-in setup professionally. As it is some distance to the nearest steering/suspension business, I would like to roughly set the toe-in before leaving.
Do any of you kind gents have the lengths of your track rods from centre of tie rod end to centre of tie rod end (see photo)? It would be a great help as the only gear I have to check the steering geometry is a tape measure.
Molto grazie,
Chris

And to add to Chris' request, I need the same detail as I am in the same predicament. (Plus I have reached a point where my outer rod lengths are as short as I think I can go and I still think I have to make them shorter...........)

Hope it's not too late for you guys. I had to let the sun come out you know! I drive a left hand drive '69 500L. I measured center to center and I got 36.2cm on both rods. Hope this helps get you to the shop safely!
