Ciao Sergio,

Secondo a me sulla 1000 - 1200 euro e normale. Dopo che la machina arrive nei Stati uniti devi compilare i documento EPA form 3520-1 e HS-7. Spero che ho scritto bene perche non ho usato un traduttore

Sorry for not translating, got busy.

"I will bring my 500 in America this summer. I had to remove the plates and cancel the car from the Italian system. I then had to do a customs document called EX1 stating that the car would be exported out of Italy. You need to find a transport agency nearby you to talk about their shipping price. In my opinion it should be in the 1000 to 1200 euro range normally. After the car arrives in the United States you have to fill out (submit) documents EPA form 3520-1 and HS-7. I hope I wrote this well because I did not use a translator."

thanks for your answer.
I will inform with a transport agency.
I hope that the price is about 500 EUR

for documents on the Internet now I see

Hello! I imported a 1970 Fiat 500L from The Netherlands Feb.2014 to Massachusetts two months later. What a process! The used engine the restoration shop used has low oil pressure when warmed up. I'm in the middle of a steep learning curve on 500 engine repair! Tough to find any information or parts on these things.

Welcome to the Forum Marcuss;
You have a very good looking car there---looks like a 71/72 500L. There is all the help you need in the forum, plus lots of advice as to parts---just ask, and the help will be forthcoming. All the best with the car--enjoy it.

The battery that fits the 500 in the USA is the group size 51R. The 51 and 51R are the same size, but the difference is that the positive and negative terminal locations are reversed.
This is what I bought for my 1969 500L and it fits fine.
I bought mine at Tractor Supply for $80.

Thanks. I'll order a 51R.

Well now,
I have the requisite 5 posts behind me and now I can attach a link!
Here is the link to a newspaper article featuring our little 1972 Fiat 500L.
The article is mostly accurate with the exception of a couple items; the engine was simply cleaned and the sheet metal striped and painted, secondly the conversation with the Italian who claimed he was conceived in a 500 happened to a friend in Italy, not with me (it is a funny little story though).

Bruce

Greetings all. I am in Orlando, Florida and would really like to connect with other Fiat/Bianchina owners locally. I just purchased this delightful 1971 500L. I live in Northern NJ (Bergen County).
I don't have an owner's manual/handbook. Can someone point me to a website that has basic information like Oil Weight, location of various owner serviceable items etc..

Thank you! :)

Hi guys,

I noticed more and more U.S. folks are posting. Please update your location on your avator because I think it is helpful to know where we can get some help.

I'm in Dayton Ohio and will be moving to Shreveport, Louisana next spring.

good morning, and welcome to the Forum---we are here to help you. Probably your best 'first call' would be 'MR FIAT' in Atlanta. They seem to be the main 'classic 500' stockists on your side of the pond. However, there are a great number of European dealers who, between them, can supply just about everything you will need. If you require a list, contact me direct and I will compile a list for you. All the best with your 'wee beastie'.
