General just dropped my keys down a sewer, no spares...
By a spare set of locks, i guess theres 4 barrels? both doors, ignition and one for the bonet to lock?
Drill the locks out if possible. or have the car profesinally broken into, i think the AA will do this if your covered.
Then swap them over. probly sounds a lot easier than it is

dealers still sell lock sets for these
Actually, from experience, the locks on classic 500's are VERY easy to open, and I discovered that the keys to ours also open other 500's without any problems.
The locks are not, errrmmm, exactly high tech!
As other posters have said, replacement lock sets and ignition switches are readily available on t'Ebay!

Where are you in London? I`ve got a few Fiat keys from cars I`ve stripped over the years.
this a storm drain or grate rather than a man hole...
they all have what is known as interceptors (or a sump/U bend) get a BIG strong magnet and a length of string and go fishing,.....
something like this?
jsut be aware some are quiet deep

i wouldnt worry about that if i were you. you cant start the 500 by connecting the two wires behind the ignition slot, then by pulling the levers. Ive done this many times. if the key slot is in the dash, its easily accessible from the front trunk. as for the door handles, have a lock smith replace the core lock, or just buy replacements door handles complete with locks and keys for around 40.00 USD. not so expensive.
good lock smith can take lock to bits and cut you a key from looking at the insides,
Wont the magnet (especially a strong 1) be attracted to the drain cover itself & make the last stage of retrieval irritaingly difficult?...

Ooohh er....... moral being I guess that if the magnet on the string doesn't work, go down the new locks route!
