Does anyone know if the 1960 model Nouva has the feature where when wipers are turned on and then off, it comes back to original position? in my case the wipers tend to stop in the middle of the windscreen unless you use precise timing when switching them off :bang:

Yes - the wipers whould 'park' when they are turned off.

If you refer to the workshop manual you will see that the motor has an additional set of windings to perform just this function.

Having said this, the wipers on our car do not self 'park' and we have to turn the switch off when they are in the parked position.

Annoying, but I guess the only cure would be a new wiper motor.

Thanks

Ours don't 'park' either, we have found that you get used to it especially if you have a co driver (i.e me) to operate them. It's all in the timing!

I thought there was an adjusting screw on the motor casing to make the wipers 'park' when the switch was switched off. It was a long time ago but I think it's in the haynes manual. Mine was a 1970 so that may not have been the case as early as yours is.

edit:hmmm can't find any mention of it in the online one, perhaps it was the factory manual.
