General OK, so now show us yours!

HI everyone, well I think I have finished the job now, (always some fine fettling to do but the main works and finish is all done. Thus, I have attached a potted history of the discovery, rebuild and a few pictures of the journey along the way for your interest. I hope you all like her as much as I do and so far, everyone who has commented when she is about and about in town. Looking forward to the show season in 2015.

Cheers
Hugh Jarce

Nicely written up Gary. I know about that grey mist that needs blowing in around the costing of the restoration:rolleyes:
I must write up a similar concise story about my own.
I didn't realise your lovely car had involved such an challenge!
Brilliant.

Thanks for your comments and appreciation. I just found this shot in our local newspaper, it's from the gallery of cars at the Hinckley Classic Car show last September, I don't know who took it but they caught the colour really well, and with over 500 cars on display to make the chosen few in the papers gallery was spot on.

Meet Mr Marchetti,

I stumbled across him whilst in Ascoli earlier this year. I've been after a 500 for a good few years now but had always been a dream rather than a plan, However, turns out he was for sale and he ended up coming back to Blighty with us.

He's currently in the garage, preparing for his re-test. Usual sticking points like LDH headlights and indicator/sidelights ....argh!

Hi All .
This is my 500.
It's a 1972 F, one owner from new , 16000 miles from new, and never been restored.
Still has the original clutch from new.
Steering wheel cover has never come off !
Chrome work is all original too !
Let me know what you guys think .

Lucky you Capo. It looks beautiful:)
At least you prove that 500s are good in The Alps.
Maybe see you some time on my Grand Tour.

Regards..Peter in Nairn, Scotland

I was conceived in Scotland, almost born there. I proudly consider myself to have Scotish roots, also because of my viking heritage and our historic intermigrations and assimilations.:)

The 500 certainly copes with the Alps but the tiny engine works on full load a lot of its running time. Worst is that today's trafic is way faster, requiring at least a 650 kit to go with the flow when it gets hilly. That's why I've ordered an engine with a larger displacement.

Here's my little one,

I think we're gonna call her Beau, as her original Italian plates were from Bologna (BO).

Whilst out in October we stumbled across a Morgan meet, but Beau outshone them!
