I am a newbie - original owner of 77 spider.
Trunk lock stopped turning with key. Tumbler seemed to be spinning. I tried to open latch with a wire thru RH screw hole on plate. No joy so called auto locksmith. He finished up drilling lock but couldn't grab connecting rod which may have separated from lock. Now he wants to cut out plate area or lid to get at latch. I'm hoping to avoid that.
Can someone post a picture showing latch and plate screw hole so I know where to try again to open latch with a wire? Any other way??
