Hello all, just discovered the site and became a member.

I recently purchased a '71 850 Spider and in the process of making it road worthy again I am rebuilding the siezed brakes.
I am having a heck of a time finding front calipers, pads, rear brake hoses.
Where do I go to find these parts?
Part numbers, interchangability with other models, web sights would all help.:worship:

I would try eBay first or hunt for someone selling one (craigslist) or even a pick-a-part/junkyard and see what they got. For the '71 they're interchangeable (according to the manual I have) with anything from a '68-'72. I hope any of this helped!

For brake parts and information for the 850:

- Bayless in Marieta, Georgia. 800-241-1446
www.baylessfiat.com

- Bruce's Parts Bin in Newfield, NJ. 856-358-1555

- Shade Tree Enginetrics in Nevada, TX. 972-771-0804

I bought a complete set of calipers, hoses, rotors, etc. from Bruce's about six years ago. I also bought a complete set from Shade Tree for my other 850. I currently have most of my work done, parts delivered, etc. from Shade Tree. Cindy and Robert are very knowledgeable, and can find any part, new or used that you are looking for. (They are currently rebuilding a transmission for me. They have re-cored radiators to help with overheating, and rebuilt the motor in my '72 850 about five years ago.)

I hope that this helps...

Good luck !

I've heard good things. I'm in the process of buying an Orange 72 850 myself. The guy I'm buying it from has replaced brakes and some engine parts from Bayless. I'll be starting to restore things on a nickel and dime basis myself soon. I'm looking forward to playing with this new toy.

Well, it is nice to find a community of similar crazies!

Thank you for the advice.
After looking at the Bayless site, all of the brake pads (front) come up as no longer stocked, as well as many front suspension parts, rear brake shoes etc. I have found the pads locally at a parts house for $70.00. Still looking for calipers.
After I get all of the parts together I will post a list of part numbers for everything that is a correct number and worked on my car.
Little by little it will brake again!
