I've had my 1982 Spider 2000 for almost 2 years and have had numerous problems with it overheating. My latest problem....if I'm stuck in traffic, the fuse for the radiator fan keeps blowing. I'm now thinking that it's not the correct size fuse, but I don't have the manual. Does anyone have a fuse box diagram for my baby? Thanks.

the next size up is 25 A- you don't think it'll cause any damage?
thanks!!

unless you know the wattage or amperage of the fan its hard to exactly work out the correct fuse (remember ohms law from school:rolleyes: ) to use however most modern cars use 25-30amp.

I would say 25amp is fine.

Does the fuse blow all the time, only sometimes, straight away when fan cuts in?

the fuse only blows when i get stuck in stop & go traffic. It's obviously gotten way worse with the warmer weather. I just can't think of anything else- over the last year i've had my radiator re-coiled, new water pump, thermostat, fan switch, alternator, etc...Yes, my mechanic loves me.
The car had been garaged for 14 years. I'm thinking that some of the fuses were changed before me.

I use a 25 in my 72 but I am running a 2.0 engine. If that blows you might have a faulty ground. With electrical problems I have found out it is usually the ground.

thanks all. it seems that changing the fuse has fixed my overheating problem. now what about my horn? it's not working anymore. what could it be?

...now what about my horn?
The horn recently went out on my 1981 spider 2000. It was an air horn with two coronetas (not sure of english word for the trumpet-like things). The electric air motor died (it was the original italian made). I replaced it with a cheap peruvian equivalent and it's working great.

Check the wiring and switch first. If not those, it might be the same problem as mine.
