Bike rack.

Hi there,

I have a 1984 Fiat Ducato motor home and I and trying to see if it is possible to fit a bike rack on it somewhere. It needs to be able to carry up to four bikes. If anyone has any advise it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. S

I owned a 1988, and it will be VERY similar, I chose mine as the guy selling it had a MOTORCYCLE Rack on the back

The Ducato's are all built as a
"Chassis Cab"
This is basically 2 x long rails that run along the floor of your camper, behind the rear wheels and axle there will be @1 metre (3 feet) of bare chassis

It will be possible to mount weight on that, will involve some engineering though!


For ones you see that appear fixed to the camper bodywork in modern vans
I would be VERY wary of disturbing your body structure (it was NOT particularly strong 40 years ago..)
